- DFB and national teams advertising rights until 2022
- DFB Cup, 3. Liga and Women’s Bundesliga partner for three seasons, starting from the 2019/20 season

The leading German sports betting provider bwin is expanding its existing partnership with the German Football Association (DFB) to become the “official sports betting partner of the German Football Association”. This makes bwin the DFB’s first private sports betting partner.
This collaboration includes advertising rights with the DFB and the German national teams from 1 January 2019 through to the end of 2022. The partnership also provides bwin with advertising rights for the DFB Cup; the 3. Liga – the German third division and; the Women’s Bundesliga. These rights will run from 1 July 2019 for three seasons until the end of June 2022.
In addition, as part of this partnership, the DFB and bwin will also strengthen and develop their commitment to improving responsible gambling measures and to ensuring the integrity of the sport.
The comprehensive partnership includes perimeter advertising, hospitality, online and offline integration into the respective communication media of the DFB, the national team and associated competitions, as well as use of the corresponding logos in advertising and social media integration.
bwin has been the 3. Liga’s lead partner since 2017. This partnership includes bwin advertising on 3. Liga team shirt sleeves, in stadia publications and on their websites.
The collaboration also features an extensive commitment to preventing addiction and to maintaining the integrity of the sport. In addition to existing controls, both partners have committed to work with experts to develop and intensify their training and prevention programmes to combat gambling and betting addiction, as well as against match fixing.
Stephan Heilmann, who is responsible for the activities of bwin in the German-speaking region, states: “We are greatly honoured to be a DFB partner and look forward to greatly expanding our current partnership with this new agreement. We look forward with great enthusiasm to the national team matches and the enthralling DFB Cup battles to come. Both offer an unparalleled environment for us to present the bwin brand. Championing responsible sports betting within this partnership will also be a crucial issue for us, and one we want to promote jointly with the DFB.”
Denni Strich, Managing Director DFB GmbH adds: “We are delighted to be extending our existing partnership with bwin to include extremely attractive sporting competitions. Joining forces with our partner, we will also be focusing attention on integrity and preventing addiction.”
