Revolutionising sports betting and online gaming in the United States

Last year was exceptionally active for BetMGM, our 50/50 joint-venture with MGM Resorts, which we created to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the regulation of sports betting and gaming in the US.

We started the year having already launched in three states – Nevada, New Jersey, and Mississippi – and went on to launch combinations of online sports betting, retail sports betting and iGaming in seven more: West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Colorado, Oregon, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania as well as adding online sports to Nevada. In 2021 we have already launched online in Iowa and Virginia as well as online sports betting and gaming in Michigan, taking us to a total of twelve states and we aim to be live in around 20 states by the end of 2021, reaching approximately 40% of the adult population.

We are also seeing incredible uptake when we launch in these new states. In Michigan, 138,000 new customers were registered within ten days of launch and we saw a total GGR of $13m over that time which equates to $1.3m per day. Likewise in Tennessee, where we launched online sports betting in November, we delivered a 34% market share of Gross Gaming Revenue (“GGR”) in Q4 2020 with GGR growing by 41% in December 2020 to January 2021.
