We’re now well into the new year and our journey as world-leader in sports betting, gaming and interactive entertainment continues in 2023 with more excitement than ever before. For those of you keeping up with Entain news, you’ll have seen updates since my article on how we continue to deliver on our strategy and bring moments of excitement to people’s lives more than ever before.
In February, we released our Q4 2022 Trading Update, and I’m pleased to say that Entain continues to perform strongly, and we’ve increased our EBITDA guidance as a result. Not only is our strategy working, but the Entain Platform remains our global competitive edge. From the technology that powers our worldwide operations to the talent that drives our business forward, it’s this unique recipe for success that allows us to welcome more great brands to our Group portfolio and scale at pace.
One of those brands is BetCity in The Netherlands, who we officially welcomed to our Entain family at the start of this year. You’ll hear more about BetCity in this edition of Entain Engage, but I’m really pleased to welcome Melvin and his team to our global business. As a market-leading operator in The Netherlands, BetCity brings marketing excellence, a diverse customer base and top local talent to our business. As one of the first operators to receive a Dutch licence in 2021, the team have rapidly grown market share and offers a unique and engaging proposition to customers.
Further afield, we’ve been making excellent progress in the US with our BetMGM joint venture. The business, which started in 2018, has scaled rapidly to be the third largest operator in the markets where it operates, leading the way in iGaming. In January this year, BetMGM announced its FY22 business update to the market. With a revenue upgrade and profitability expected in H2 2023, it’s a fantastic outlook for the business as we continue to excite our customers in the US and gain market share. It’s a remarkable achievement for the BetMGM and Entain teams involved in powering the business and, with more state launches tipped for this year, I’m looking forward to see what we can achieve.

Now live in 23 international markets, ARC™ uses pioneering AI technology to hyper-personalise player behaviours and protect them from harm. While ARC™ is revolutionary in its approach, we’re going above and beyond to ensure that Entain is the most responsible and trusted operator in the industry.
Beyond ARC™, our important customer teams around the world work around the clock to keep our customers safe and their activity enjoyable. You’ll hear from my colleague, Lucky, about the inner workings of our customer service function at Entain and how the team handles millions of customer interactions across our popular global brands. The team are at the forefront of our customer experience and enjoyment, and it’s brilliant to hear how we continuously strive for the best service for customers and, together with ARC™, they ensure that players keep activity free from harm.
When it comes to our wider sustainability initiatives, I’m very proud of our collaborative efforts with the team at McLaren Racing to tackle gender inequality and representation for women in STEM. The Returnship programme invites a cohort of talented women to reignite their careers in STEM after a career break, opening the doors for women of all seniorities to pursue careers in two of the most exciting industries in the world.
